Printing a QR code that actually scans
Keep a quiet zone — clear space equal to about four modules — around every edge. Codes printed flush against other artwork fail far more often than people expect. Print at 2cm square or larger for anything scanned at arm's length, and larger again for a poster.
Contrast matters more than colour. A dark code on a light background scans reliably; the reverse often does not, and mid-tone on mid-tone rarely does. If you are adding a logo, keep it under about a fifth of the width and use the highest error correction level.
